Porsche Cayman S
Identity :
After so many years with basically only one model in the entire line-up (the Almighty 911), Porsche found a way to hit a larger audience with the Boxster and the Cayenne SUV... But there remained room for another sportscar between the Boxster and the Carrera. This car is the Cayman and today we got our hands on the best version, the Porsche Cayman S.
Headlines :

4 341 mm, 1350 kg (2975lbs)

Top speed : 275 km/h (171mph)

Design :
Porsche design at its finest. Featuring elements of other Porsche vehicles both esthetically and mecanically, the Cayman seduces at first sight and looks like it's always been a part of the Porsche family line-up. The front end features the excellent round headlights that made their way back to the latest generation Carrera models (997). Although the Cayman fails to surprise, it offers the style and identity that many sportscars lovers look for.
Interior :
Excellent presentation, materials, quality, and look, the interior of the Cayman S didn't surprise us, but will please usual buyers and amaze those not familiar with Porsche. Visibility is perfect even though the seat is very low. On a side note, many arrangements are available making the interior pretty practical.
On the road :
Some things are very predictible and the handling of the Cayman S is, as you would expect, excellent. The chassis provide a lot of confidence and the Porsche Stability Management (that, unfortunately, can't be switched off) makes the car very easy and enjoyable to drive... Maybe a little bit to easy indeed that we would wish the car had more horses under the bonnet... Our test vehicle was equipped with the carbon brakes option which, despite an annoying sound during the first few kilometers, will simply never let you down.
Final words :
While I initially thought the Cayman would be some kind of "Carrera wannabe", I have to say that I was not only mistaken but I was very wrong. At 60.000€, the Cayman S is clearly not as affordable as a Nissan 350Z or Mercedes SLK350, but those cars, no matter how good, are just not in the same category.

I test Drove the Cayman S and found it a very well designed sports car for a mid-aged guy. I was very underwhelmed at the engines performance and expected much more. Definatley needs another 50hp and 100 ft lbs of torque. Also I like to see my engine and even touch and make my own mods to it. You can't even see it as no hood or bonnet. Just a little trap door with a dipstick and water bottle. I felt cheated.
Mind you that Nissan GT-R and BMW 135 , M3 are comming up in your rear view mighty fast.....what was that??? a Corvette Z06 passing like standing still...little brother to that monster Z01
I'm not buying this overpriced status symbol
