2nd Gen Wonder !

2010 Porsche 911 GT3

We would like to Thank Porsche France for their track time with the 2010 GT3

Exterior:
At first glance, it is hard to see the difference between a first gen GT3 997 and the new GT3. Like usual Porsche did not really revise their copy from top to the bottom. This said we won’t really complain about this choice since the first Gen GT3 was superb!!! Black fit the new GT3 even better, but unfortunately Porsche only had a Dark Blue GT3 available for us to try.

Afar, the difference are difficult to findbetween these two GT3s, but closer you will first notice the new 19” alloy wheel with central nut. Like the Carrera GT, the GT3 is now fitted with a similar wheel, reducing unstrung masses and providing improved stability.

The second noticeable difference is a new and redesigned adjustable rear spoiler. The new GT3 is also 30mm lower than the previous one. We doubt you would have noticed, so now you know!

Interior:
Sober is what can best describe the new GT3. Fitter with carbon bucket type seats, fire extinguisher under, well between the passenger's legs, puts you right away in the contest of what GT3 stands for… Power!

Does that mean Porsche forget their famous luxury touch? Sort of since you will just have to enjoy Alcantara on your steering wheel, shifter and handbrake. But hey, if you want a more comfortable 911, don’t get a GT3, just go for a more stanard package.

Technical
Power has been boosted by 20hp over the previous model, with the car’s naturally-aspirated flat-six engine now pumping out 435hp. Changes to the powertrain include a larger 3.8L of displacement, as opposed to the former’s 3.6L, as well as an updated VarioCam system that adjusts both the intake and the exhaust valves for the first time. Engineers also focused on boosting torque levels at medium engine speeds. The end result is a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 312km/h.

To improve handling, engineers modified the PSM stability management system to allow more flexibility - offering the option to deactivate both Stability Control (SC) and Traction Control (TC) in separate steps. To give the driver maximum control, these functions are not reactivated automatically even under the most extreme driving conditions, but only at the touch of a button.

Performances
Technically superior in many aspects, with a boost in power and better grip and stability, the 2010 GT3 is definitely more powerful than its predecessor. If you like numbers well check that, 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1s, o to 200km/h in 12.3s and a maximum speed to 312km/h. This 2010 GT3 is really impressive for just half the price of a Ferrari F430 Scuderia.
