  Armand Nicolet Limited Edition LO7 Chronograph

  The new Armand Nicolet Limited Edition chronograph is a limited to 140 pieces. 20 pieces use the famous caliber Venus 175 with column wheel and 120 pieces use the Venus 188 with “navettes” system. The plate and the bridges deserve particular attention: they are entirely decorated with a new motif that the Maison has called “Côte de Nicolet”. After their surface is perfectly polished, the plate and the bridges are hand decorated by means of a special tool that has an ivory point.   Determined to perpetuate the glorious history of the first modern diver’s watch (1953), the le Brassus manufacturer unveiled the brand-new Fifty Fathoms Automatique, imbued with the brand’s trademark understated elegance. In striking contrast with its black predecessors, it radiantly reveals its sporting assets through an immaculate white exterior that blends tradition and innovation with pure, sleek lines. In keeping with its tradition of innovation, Blancpain has interpreted the instantly recognizable design of the Fifty Fathoms in the emblematic color of purity. Crafted in scratch-resistant sapphire, the white unidirectional rotating bezel avoids any risk of accidentally prolonging dive time, while its slightly raised and ratcheted design helps limit potential shocks. The 45 mm-diameter steel case is equipped with crown guards that reinforce security around this essential component.   A Limited Edition of 6,000 Pieces The first hand-wound mechanical movement in the TAG Heuer Carrera series since 1996, this limited edition of 6,000 watches hosts a movement that was historically used in the pocket watches of the 1960s. The polished steel case measures 43mm. The small second’s hand at 6 o'clock with a semi-circular graduation has a rhodium hand indicating 0 to 30 seconds and a red hand indicating 30 to 60 seconds.   Doxa SUB 5000T Seaconqueror

  DOXA is proud, and pleased to present the Seaconqueror. This is just the latest example of DOXA’s truly unique relationship with their customers. Customer feedback and requests have helped shape the design and features found in each of the Re-edition Series so far. Research and development continues to be a truly collaborative effort, something very unique in the Swiss watch industry. Also known as the SUB 5000T Class, the Seaconqueror is the latest evolution of the DOXA SUB fleet. This watch is a first of its kind, the result of a design opinion poll conducted on the Official DOXA Forum. One of the single most requested features was a Helium Release Valve. As a result, this became a key design focus and pays tribute to one of DOXA’s most sought-after vintage models, the Conquistador. This was the first dive watch ever equipped with a Helium Release Valve to be made available to the general public when it debuted in 1969. Nearly half of the responding forum members wanted a higher-grade of movement. So DOXA went for the very best movement that ETA has to offer – the 2892. This is one of the most modern, most advanced movements available, and the best that ETA produces. A ratcheting dive suit extension has been built into the clasp. With most dive watches, the watch has to be removed to make use of the dive suit extension, but with DOXA’s new design, the clasp can be utilized with the thumb and forefinger, simply pushing a button! A thicker, more modern looking bracelet is secured by screws rather than the spring bars of the past. DOXA has increased the depth rating of the SUB, making sure everything is safe and dry at a depth of 5000 feet. This is enhanced by a larger, thicker case. And what’s a diving watch that can’t be seen in the “briny deep”? DOXA addressed this concern with a new dial constructed with solid steel indices that act almost as retaining barriers to ensure that the deepest application of Superluminova possible can be used.   Ferrari California

  After many weeks of denying, Ferrari has finally (officially) revealed the existence of a new car to add to the Prancing Horse's line up: the Ferrari California. Powered by a 4.3L V8, the California will seat before the F430 but still shows impressive figures such as 460hp @ 7500rpm, capable of a 0 to 100km/h under 4 seconds, seriously fast for what some way call "an entry level Ferrari". As always, the car will also feature a bit of Formula 1 heritage in the form of carbon brakes, tuned suspensions or the F1-Trac traction control system, for lightning fast launches off the grid...on the track of course!   Brabus Tuned Mercedes SL Facelift

  One of the most respectful German Tuners, Brabus, decided to work its magic on another respectable car, the all new shiny Mercedes Benz SL. With a sportier design, the SL deserved to be treated like a “Queen” and Brabus decided to tweak our roadster a little and bring under the bonnet an incredible engine which develops not less than 730hp on a diabolic 6.3 liter twin-turbo Engine V12. For reference the stock version of the SL600 Roadster develop 510hp and 604 for the SL65 AMG... Impressive! With this power under the bonnet, BRABUS will propel this SL to 0-100km/h in just 4sec and to a maximum speed of 350km/h More information below in the press release. Rejuvenated by a substantial model update the fifth generation of the Mercedes SL now starts yet another chapter in the unparalleled success story of the popular Mercedes roadster. BRABUS tuning is also available for the SL 65: The BRABUS T 12 S performance kit increases power output by 40 hp (DIN and SAE net) / 29.4 kW. The BRABUS T 65 S power kit bumps power output to 715 hp (705 hp SAE net) / 526 kW and peak torque to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft). The SL 63 AMG also receives some added power with BRABUS B63 S tuning. Sport air filter, high-performance metal catalysts and newly programmed engine electronics add 40 hp (DIN and SAE net) 29.5 kW to the power output of the fast-revving V8 engine, and increase top speed to 320 km/h (200 mph). The four-valve-V8 engine of the SL 500 (US: SL550) with BRABUS 6.1 S displacement increase produces 462 hp (456 hp SAE net) / 340 kW of power at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 615 Nm (453 lb-ft) at 3,100 rpm. The BRABUS 4.0 displacement engine with 332 hp (327 hp SAE net) / 244 kW of power and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque is available for the V6 four-valve engines of the SL 280 and SL 350. The stainless-steel BRABUS sport exhaust system with four chrome-plated tailpipes is a must for all BRABUS high-performance engines. But it is also the answer for all SL owners wishing for a sportier exhaust note and for a more striking rear appearance of their two-seater. To add sporty emphasis to the elegant lines of the new Mercedes SL series, the BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop a strikingly styled aerodynamic-enhancement kit. The front of the SL receives some added pizzazz with the BRABUS front apron that replaces the production bumper. It features LED daytime running lights as well as auxiliary high beams and fog lamps, and reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds. The elegantly shaped BRABUS rocker panels each have three entrance lights integrated into their underside. The lights are activated with the keyless fob or by pulling on an inside door handle. The LED lights illuminate the ground on either side of the vehicle and help avoid unfortunate missteps into puddles or holes in the dark. The BRABUS design package for the latest SL-class is rounded out by a rear component that integrates environmental lighting, a centrally mounted rear reflector and two cutouts for the sport exhaust system. Just as important for a customized look are one-piece and multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels, which can be mounted on the new roadster in four different designs and with diameters of 17, 18, 19 and 20 inches. The largest possible tire/wheel combination on the new SL features BRABUS Monoblock VI, E or S wheels in size 9Jx20 in front with size 255/30 ZR 20 tires. The rear axle rolls on size 10.5Jx20 wheels with size 305/25 ZR 20 tires. BRABUS recommends high-performance tires from Pirelli and YOKOHAMA. To further improve the already potent handling capabilities of the new Mercedes SL, BRABUS has developed special suspension solutions. For the SL 280 and 350 models with conventional suspension BRABUS offers its sport springs. For all SL models with ABC active suspension BRABUS has developed an electronic module that lowers the ride height by some 25 millimeters. Sport sway bars reduce body roll. BRABUS high-performance brake systems for the SL-Class are available in four different versions. The largest one features vented and cross-drilled front discs measuring 375 x 36 mm (14.8 x 1.4 inches), and 12-piston fixed calipers. The rear discs measure 355 x 28 mm (14.0 x 1.1 inches) and come with six-piston fixed calipers. BRABUS also customizes the interior of the two-seater by upping the level of luxury.   The ACS1 Convertible by AC Schnitzer

  Sometimes I really feel for all the German car owners out there because...when you want to customize your car a bit, there are so many great companies to deal with such as Lorinser, AMG, Brabus, Hamann or Gemballa...but...the more the better as they say... Sure thing is summer is coming and you can feel it if you're from Europe. Summer means convertibles and AC Schnitzer, with their ACS1, has got everything you need to drive a nice looking and fast 1 Series BMW. Details from ACSchnitzer.de The ACS1 Convertible Viewed from its roof construction, the new 1-series Cabrio is a classic softy. Under its soft shell lurks a hard masculine cornering machine which isn't pushed aside by anyone: especially in the AC Schnitzer version. As honed as a high performance athlete, the car cuts a fine figure even in the car park. Engines - Exhaust In both petrol and diesel engine variants, we inject any amount of power into the compact cabrio. Extra horsepower is available with the 135i, 120d and 123d: for BMW 135i from 225 kW / 306 HP to 265 kW / 360 HP for BMW 120d from 130 kW / 177 HP to 147 kW / 200 HP for BMW 123d from 150 kW / 204 HP to 177 kW / 240 HP And because the standard speedo is sometimes overloaded with so much "unbridled" power, AC Schnitzer upgrades it to 320 km/h. The final touch is given by the sports rear silencer in connection with the chromed tailtrims in "racing" design, which are also as single tailtrims available for the 118i, 120i, 125i, 120d and 123d. The Suspension Technology Any pursuer's hopes of overtaking the agile 1-series on the next corner are soon deflated by the AC Schnitzer suspension. The spring kit alone allows transverse acceleration which seems to go beyond the laws of physics. But fortunately physics doesn't issue penalty notices! Obstacles can be evaded more quickly and precisely with the complete sports suspension, or even circled completely with the height-adjustable racing suspension. The Bodywork We have transplanted the muscles visually to the right places. In the end, the vehicle is an agile sprinter and not a bodybuilder who can scarcely move for power. At first glance, the new front skirt strikes you - it is less rounded than standard and runs into a slight taper. This, in combination with the diagonal grille insert, ensures a far more dynamic appearance. And naturally the Cabriolet not only has a neat front, but also a strong rear: the AC Schnitzer rear skirt lip or insert (for M-Technik version) provides an extra cross contour in comparison with the original, and hence a more "powerful" look. Underneath, a diffuser element highlights the sporting heritage of the vehicle. The fact that the sporting appearance is more than just Show & Shine becomes evident to the driver from a glance in the rearview mirror (approx. available 11/2008). The car behind grows smaller at record speed when you put your foot to the floor. The Wheels There are a wealth of AC Schnitzer alloys and racing rims available for the BMW 1 series in Type II, Type III and Type IV designs. As well as various combinations in 17" and 18" the 1-series can be fitted with 19" alloy or racing rims which take tyres of size 225/35 R 19 all round. This modification alone already perceptibly improves the driving dynamics. The Interior Exclusivity also predominates in the cockpit: as well as the carbon interior trim in silver and the ergonomically shaped sports airbag steering wheels, the final touch is given by the aluminium accessories e. g. for the controller of the BMW-specific "i-Drive" system, the pedal set and footrests, different gear knobs or handbrake handles.   BMW Wins World Engine of the Year Award

  One more for BMW with the World Engine of the Year Award thanks to the 3-litre Twin-Turbo that some of you enjoy on a daily basis under the hood of the BMW 135i or 335i. An amazing engine combining power, torque and a reasonable gas consumption which apparently seduced the judges.   Vauxhall VXR8

  The Vauxhall VXR8, another reason to be jealous of our friends in the UK, and the fact it's part of the GM group (to get a taste of the Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO/Chevy Corvette thingy) is back with a bigger heart in the form of the LS3 6.2L V8. It now produces a juicy 431PS for just £485 more than the previous version. All the details are yours, from the official Press Release: * New 6.2-litre V8 engine * Improved in-gear performance * Option of 20” alloy wheels * Gearbox oil cooler standard on auto * Addition of Heron White to colour palette Vauxhall’s mighty VXR8 super-saloon gets a potent new V8 engine this summer, with even more power and improved performance. The new unit allows the VXR8 to raise the bar yet again among its rivals, optimising its sophisticated rear-wheel drive chassis still further and retaining its mantle as a driver’s car like no other in its class. New colour and equipment options further enhance this, the fastest car to wear the Griffin badge. Known as LS3, the new V8 engine’s capacity grows from 5967cc to 6162cc, and thanks to various improvements over the outgoing LS2 unit, such as high-flow cylinder heads, new pistons and an enhanced valvetrain, power is up by 14PS to 431PS at 6000rpm. This translates to a reduced 0-60mph time for cars with automatic transmissions (down from 5.0 seconds to 4.9) and improved in-gear acceleration for manual models (50-70mph in 3rd gear drops from 2.8 to 2.6 seconds; 30-50mph in 2nd gear drops from 2.0 to 1.9 seconds). And if you fancy smoking your VXR8 at a track day, you’ll see 80-100mph times fall from 4.3 to just 4.0 seconds in 4th gear. Limited to a total of 200 units, this new roadster features an eye-catching designo magno Kashmir White finish as well as an AMG Exterior Carbon package with a matte surface. In keeping with the exterior appearance, the vehicle’s interior is fitted with Carbon matte trim as well as Tobago Brown nappa leather upholstery that creates additional visual and tactile highlights. To ensure that the driver remains in perfect control of his or her vehicle, the two-tone AMG Performance steering wheel has a reduced diameter, a rim that’s flattened at the bottom, and Silver-finish aluminum gearshift paddles. The steering wheel is part of the Performance package, which also includes forged 19-inch AMG light alloy, double-spoke wheels with a Titanium Gray finish and polished surfaces. The 8.5-inch and 9.5-inch rims sport 255/35 R 19 and 285/30 R 19 format tires, respectively. The front axle is equipped with internally ventilated, perforated composite disc brakes (390 x 36 mm) that keep braking distances to a minimum and ensure the vehicle is extremely resistant to fading. Handling is further enhanced by other technical features from the Performance package, including a rear-axle, multi-disc limited-slip differential with a lock factor of 40 percent, as well as an AMG Performance chassis equipped with Active Body Control. Boasting a top output of 386 kW/525 hp and a maximum torque of 630 Nm, the AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine is augmented by an extremely responsive partner in the shape of the all-new AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven-speed sports transmission. The SL 63 AMG Edition IWC accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h. Mercedes-AMG and IWC Schaffhausen: A luxurious partnership Along with the vehicle, buyers of the SL 63 AMG Edition IWC will also receive a limited edition model of IWC’s “Grosser Ingenieur” watch. This precious chronometer has a stainless steel housing measuring an impressive 45.5 millimeters in diameter. The design of the watch’s wristband and face compliment the vehicle concept.   Want a little more style and juice from the Mercedes SL500? Carlsson is among the German tuners with an answer, and a pretty darn good one known as the CK50. We all know what ingredients are needed to turn a factory car into a tuned car, and nothing seems to be missing from the CK50. The exterior has been treated with care in the form of new body parts, a sporty exhaust, and new wheels. The same goes for the engine which sees a good increase in both power and torque (435HP and 600Nm). Coming on strong: the Carlsson CK50 engine kit Specially developed by Carlsson for the current 5.5 Litre V8, the CK50 engine kit, which includes the adaptation of the electronic control unit, allows the elegant roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. Following their boost by Carlsson, the output and torque data are quite impressive: 435 HP/ 320 kW (standard model: 388 HP/ 285 kW) at 6000 rpm. The torque of the tuned V8 is 600 Nm/ 2800-4800 rpm (electronically regulated), the top speed is 293 km/h thanks to the Vmax delimiter, with acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. In short, the CK50 engine kit has more than enough output and torque for any situation! Support for its output comes in the form of the CK50 kit’s exhaust gas system, which has been individually adapted to optimise the flow of exhaust gases. The exhaust gas back pressure is reduced with the help of sports middle and rear exhaust silencers made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and developed by Carlsson’s own engineers. Four polished exhaust tailpipes bear witness to the additional performance of this SL. Naturally, Carlsson can also provide the appropriate performance enhancements for versions of the SL with other engines in them – extending right up to the CK65, which has over 700 HP and a torque of 1100 Nm. In all these performance enhancements, the Carlsson engineers are constantly on the lookout to ensure that the tolerance limits of the engine components are not exceeded, so as to avoid any damage. Equally, all engines that have been tuned by Carlsson still comply with all the regulations concerning exhaust fumes. Aerodynamics, Carlsson style: first-rate appearance meets sporty presentation Good aerodynamics in a car will have a positive effect on its driving and safety. Discreet but highly-efficient Carlsson components round off the appearance of this SL, cleverly adding a sporting touch. For vehicles with an AMG styling package, Carlsson is offering a length-adjustable front spoiler lip, made of PUR in original equipment manufacturer quality or of carbon, which is used as a material in motor sports. Further visual highlights are provided by the grille inserts made of electropolished stainless steel for the air inlets, and by the air outlet gill vents with carbon supports. Also for vehicles with AMG styling, Carlsson builds into the rear apron a diffusor insert made of PUR, with an air conduction system made of carbon. For the standard rear apron with AMG styling, Carlsson offers grille inserts made of electropolished stainless steel. A spoiler at the rear creates greater downward impetus, thus ensuring greater stability at high speeds. The electronic C-Tronic® SUSPENSION lowering gear Carlsson also provides electronic C-Tronic® SUSPENSION lowering gear for the SL, which lowers the vehicle approximately 30 mm further – thus giving the roadster a visibly sportier appearance and ensuring a lower centre of gravity. This C-Tronic® SUSPENSION reacts intelligently to the actual road conditions. On a poor stretch of road, or in the event of persistently heavy compression, the height of the vehicle is automatically readjusted to ensure that the necessary reserve of spring travel required for preserving driving comfort is maintained. Even at speeds in excess of 120 km/h, the suspension travel remains sufficient at all times because the C-Tronic® SUSPENSION respects the maximum depth permissible for the standard model – in other words, the minimum vehicle level. Reduced body roll and a much greater agility in handling lead in turn to a significant increase in driving pleasure. At the same time, with less air flowing beneath the vehicle, there is a reduction in aerodynamic drag and lift. The 1/16 Ultra Light high tech forged wheel The surface of the 1/16 Ultra Light multi-spoke wheel is polished to a high-gloss finish and coated with highly-transparent protective lacquer. The sides of the spokes are brush-finished and create an elegant contrast to the surface. Multi-spoke designs are ideal for the optimization of weight. The even distribution of the spokes means that forces acting upon the wheel are directed into the wheel spider as efficiently as possible. Thus an oversized thickness is avoided and the ideal wheel weight achieved. Stat-of-the-art forging technology ensures a saving in weight of approximately 38% as opposed to cast wheels of comparable wheel load and dimensions. Due to the denseness of the metal, discharged forces are transmitted onward more evenly than in a cast wheel. The unsprung masses at the wheel suspensions are kept as low as possible, and as a result the wheels tramp less. This is why Carlsson’s forged wheels guarantee a noticeable improvement in driving comfort over conventional light metal wheels, and this can be felt particularly clearly on an uneven road surface. Carlsson’s forged Carlsson 1/16 Ultra Light wheel is available for the SL in the following sizes: 8.5 x 19”, 8.5 x 20” and 9.5 x 20” (VA+HA) and 10 x 19” and 11 x 20” (HA only). A typical 20“ combination would consist of 9.5 x 20“ at the front and 11 x 20” at the rear, with 255/30 and 305/25 tyres respectively.   Official Pictures of Touring Superleggera

  The 2008 Villa d'Este Concorso D’Eleganza was the perfect place for Touring Superleggera to present its two beauties: the Berlinetta A8GCS Touring prototype and Bellagio Fastback Touring. Based on the Maserati Gransport platform, the A8GCS offers a radically different style realized by young Belgian designer Louis de Fabribeckers. This astonishing look is combined with excellent performance thanks to a 4.2L 90° V8 engine producing 400hp and 452Nm, enough to rocket this lightweight (somewhere around 1200kg) beauty. The second entry, the Bellagio Fastback Touring, is a very unusual car for what is basically a Maserati Quattroporte. Worry not, with the same 400HP V8, the two ton of the Bellagio can still reach 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds en route to a top speed of 275km/h. Design :
Low and large, the R8 looks both powerful and light. Lines are tight, the front and rear are equally impressive and the sides are equipped with original "blades" (in carbon or aluminium). Audi succeeded in providing a high performance car that keeps the manufacturer's identity, yet looking radically different from any other car in the category or even the whole market. This car will eternally turn heads.

Interior :
When it comes to interior quality, you can't go wrong with Audi and the R8 is no exception. Everything is made with excellent quality materials, looking sporty and luxurious. From the 1st second you feel great in an R8 and our experience tells us that this interior will never look outdated. An amazing work.

On the road :
The R8 is litteraly stuck to the road and the steering proves to be very precise. While taking a Porsche 911 to the limit requires a certain level of driving skills, the Audi is impressively easy to control at all speeds...including on a race track. The Quattro All Wheel Drive system is of course responsible for this but keeps a bit of rear wheel drive feel for more fun. The chassis is excellent and the "magnetic ride" option allows the driver to switch between various modes depending on his likes...the grunt of the V8 engine is a good enough reason to leave the radio turned off. The real power of the R8 only comes pretty high in the revolutions, we would have wished more low-end torque but in no time your driver's license will be in danger !

Final words :
If we had to pick one complaint about this car, that would be Audi's incredible marketing policy which "forces" the potential buyer to dig through a deep list of options that all come at an impressive price. Apart from that and for 115 000€, the R8 is one of the most attractive GT/Supercar on the market. Watch out! If you drive it you won't be able to give the keys back!
