Bang & Olufsen to Supply Mercedes-AMG Sound Systems

Ferrari and Panerai Unveil a New Watch Collection at the British International Motor Show
Ferrari Engineered by Officine Panerai Watch Collection Debuts at the British International Motor Show Time and Sport: An all Italian fusion: Ferrari Engineered by Officine Panerai is delighted to announce its debut at the British International Motor Show. The collection of high-end watches from the luxury Italian watch brand Officine Panerai will be on public display for the first time at this year's 'Ultimate Collection' at the ExCeL Centre in Docklands. Great passion, and also technology, design, style, class, tradition and sports qualities are all elements that unite Officine Panerai and Ferrari, two names representing the highest level of "made in Italy" creativity throughout the world. This range of watches is divided into two collections, Scuderia and Granturismo. The fusion between Panerai and Ferrari is illustrated by the parallels in the appearance of a chronograph with buttons and the rear view of a Ferrari: the Prancing Horse which stands out at the centre, buttons that resemble Ferrari tail lights, the profile of the case, and the convex crystal like the rear window. Engraved on the cases and bracelets of all the 19 models presented from 2006 until now, three of which are special editions and particularly precious and exclusive watches, is an inscription that expresses and illustrates the working practice of the watch engineers. It reads: Engineered by Officine Panerai. It's a matter of meticulous, precise research carried out by observing in a precise and painstaking manner all Ferrari models created in its 60 year history. TAG Heuer SLR Laptimer Chronograph
Housed in a 47mm case, this new chronograph from TAG Heuer will be available in October. Movement is the Calibre S: Electro-Mechanical Chronograph exclusively patented by TAG Heuer. It can measure time up to 1/100th of a second. The crystal is AR-coated sapphire and it is water resistant to 100 meters. (...)

This new brand, which debuted in Geneva at the Hotel Beau Rivag, was founded by Steven Holtzman the ex-distributor for Roger Dubuis in North America. It will feature timepieces created by Christophe Claret, Roger Dubuis and Peter Speake-Marin. Their first model is the Chapter One. It’s a world’s first combination of complications with tourbillon, mono-pusher chronograph, retrograde date, retrograde GMT, and two idiosyncratic rolling bars at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock, indicating the day of the week and phase of the moon, respectively. Alpina Extreme Diver 1,000 Meters
The case, in stainless steel, measures 48mm, has a sapphire crystal and display back, a helium release valve, and water resistant to 1,000 meters. Movement is the automatic Alpina caliber AL-525 that beats at 28,800 bph and has a power reserve of 42 hours. MSPR is 1,800 Euros. An all-black PVD version is available for 2,100 Euros. (...)
IWC UTC Edition Antoine de Saint Exupery
Limited Edition of 250 in White Gold – 500 in Rose Gold & 1,188 in Steel. The Ref. IW3261 is housed in a 44mm case with an AR-coated sapphire crystal impervious to pressure changes. It is water resistant to 60 meters. Movement is the automatic IWC caliber 30710, with 23 jewels, beating at 28,800 bph and with a power reserve of 42 hours. Audi Metropolitan Concept A1

Probably Audi's biggest news at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show, the "Metropolitan" concept-car gives us a glimpse of what the future Audi A1 could (should) look like. Interestingly enough, the codename of this car is "Mini Killer" and is rumoured to make it to production in the year 2009.

The Audi Metropolitan is powered by a 1.4 liter TFSI (direct injection) engine producing 150HP combined with a 41HP electric motor that can be used to drive in the city without producing any Co2 (autonomy of 100 kilometres). This motor could be recharged anywhere.

To go on with the ecologic matters, the start/stop system automatically stops the engine when needed (traffic lights for example) and guarantees an overall gas consumption of 4.9 litres to make a hundred kilometres and 112g/km of CO2.
The performances are far from laughable with a 0-100 kmh (0-62mph) done in 7.8 seconds en route to a top speed of 201km/h (122mp/h).

It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Mini Cooper from BMW.
