TECHART GTstreet RS and TECHART GTstreet Cabriolet
In the high-performance tuning world, TechArt's name alone means business with a capital B.
Based in Germany and loyal to Porsche, TechArt that we had the chance to meet in Geneva earlier this year just released two new mean and beautiful 911 monsters.
Lets start with the most amazing one, the TechArt GT Street RS, a Porsche GT2 tuned to be a road devil.
Last May when we had the GT2 in Europe we were stunned by its performance, close to a Carrera GT. Where we thought that the 530hp under the bonnet was already a lot to cope with, Techart decided to spice things a little bit more with a new tuned engine which develops, pace yourself, 700hp with a stunning 860Nm of torque … Yes, you're reading this okay, 700hp !
Of course, TechArt tweaked a little the aerodynamic of this GT Street RS as well as giving or GT2 some chassis component updates.
Now if you’d prefer driving with style and power but “top down” you may have to consider this TechArt GT Street Cabriolet. Based on a 911 Turbo Cabriolet, it's one of the world's most powerful convertible cars with 630hp under the bonnet and a torque of 820Nm! Top speed? 345km/h and naught to sixty (0/100km/h) in a mere 3.6s (Hello GT-R).
More information on the new GT Street Cabriolet below in the official press release.
TECHART GTstreet Cabriolet
uncompromisingly sporty.
With its unmistakable characteristic look, the latest GTstreet model from TECHART Automobildesign marked the world premiere of its car design at the Geneva Auto Salon 2008. The new TECHART GTstreet Cabriolet is based on the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet and combines beauty, sportiness and dynamics.
Uncompromisingly sporty, suitable for everyday use.
With its GTstreet Cabriolet,TECHART focuses on this traditional philosophy. Since 2001, then based on the Porsche 911 Turbo model series 996, TECHART GTstreet vehicles have been among the fastest and highest performance street vehicles in the world.
An original look and breath-taking performance.
The TECHART GTstreet Cabriolet shares something visible and tangible with its successful predecessors – their genes. The water-cooled six cylinder boxer biturbo engine with TECHART TA 097/T3 and components such as the TECHART sports air filter insert, the carbon engine styling kit, the carbon sports exhaust system, the high performance intercooler, the stainless steel exhaust manifold, the turbocharger T30 VTG, the high performance valve exhaust system with sports catalytic converter, the black chrome tail pipes and Motronic 097/T3 all add up to create the most powerful convertible yet with power of 463 kW (630 hp) and torque of 820 Nm at 4,500 rpm.
Unbroken power and super-fast implementation characterise the TECHART GTstreet Cabriolet with its top-class power transmission from the four-wheel drive system to the optional six gear manual shifter with modified transmission, the TECHART switch path reduction and ball bearing gear cables. This enables the model to reach top speeds of 345 km/h, going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
The TECHART VarioPlus threaded chassis is part of the convertible as well as the TECHART GTstreet and builds on the electronically adjustable PASM absorption system of the 911 Turbo. The possibility of lowering the vehicle up to 25 mm can be individually adjusted as can the absorption system, which can be changed from ‘normal’ to ‘sport’ with
the press of a button.
The 2+2 seater convertible is fitted with the TECHART GTstreet aerodynamics kit. The GTstreet front apron with an extendable carbon fibre splitter creates downforce with the front axle and provides the radiator and front brakes with more fresh air. The TECHART GTstreet carbon fender is 10 mm wider than the series fender and therefore forms an optical feature of the convertible.
The TECHART GTstreet rear apron with integrated carbon diffuser also adds to the high degree of downforce on the back axle and sets off the convertible with its integrated black chrome tail pipes.
Uncompromisingly sporty and seductively elegant.
This defines the interior of the TECHART GTstreet Cabriolet. The leather upholstery is available in black and phantom grey with coloured decorative stitching – with matching 3-spoke steering wheel with air bag. The optical package in red/phantom grey/carbon or matt black rounds off these additional extras. The unrivalled charm of the look attracts drivers and onlookers alike – whether on the fastest racetracks of the world or in the rush hour traffic.
