Louis Moinet is proud to present what many experts already consider to be one of the world’s finest tourbillons. The unique VERTALIS model features an innovative aesthetic concept distinguished by a modern and original blend of technology and design. As its name implies, the difference here is all about verticality: VERTALIS intensifies the magic of the tourbillon by connecting its carriage to the barrel by means of a hand-drawn and bevelled vertical bar. To add to the fascinating vision of the tourbillon carriage in motion, VERTALIS offers an openworked version of the barrel. The latter’s cover performs an average rotation in 6 hours and enables one to keep visual check on the power reserve according to the state of wind of the barrel spring. Louis Moinet displays its determination to combine aesthetic and technical aspects, particularly through the vertical bar that showcases the technology of the watch, while extending over onto the case. This original and modern way of uniting displays, technology and casing is directly inspired by the historical world of Louis Moinet, and especially by some of the drawings published in his famous Traité d’Horlogerie in 1848. LIMITED EDITION OF 12 Crafted in a limited edition of 12, the exclusive VERTALIS tourbillon movement is hand-wound and beats at a cadence of 21,600 vibrations per hour. One particularly striking technical characteristic is the spectacular visibility of the winding mechanism through the case-back. The “octopus” spring plays three roles by acting as pull-out piece spring, lever spring and click spring. VERTALIS is presented in an exceptional new case composed of 50 different parts. It highlights the union of two gold colours: the warm shade of 5N rose gold, and the white gold that accentuates and pursues the geometrical effect of the vertical bar. The dial features “Côtes du Jura”® against a black background enhanced with rose gold hour-markers. The case is also equipped with the Louis Moinet crown guard, incorporating the stem in such a way as to enable easy replacement if required (patent pending). Girard-Perregaux, Rolls Royce, Pininfarina
In collaboration with Pininfarina, Girard-Perregaux has combined the excellence of a timepiece with an extraordinary motor car, personalizing one of its complication watches – the Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with gold bridge - and incorporating it in a unique Rolls Royce Hyperion, unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours this week-end. This detachable timepiece not only fit in the vehicle's dashboard, but can also adorn the wrist of its owner. Thanks to a sophisticated system of spring balls, it can be easily extracted from its alligator strap and clipped onto the dashboard. It'ss held in a support shaped like the Tourbillon cage, which is also the signature of the Girard-Perregaux brand. Ferrari and Panerai Unveil a New Watch Collection at the British International Motor Show
Ferrari Engineered by Officine Panerai Watch Collection Debuts at the British International Motor Show Time and Sport: An all Italian fusion: Ferrari Engineered by Officine Panerai is delighted to announce its debut at the British International Motor Show. The collection of high-end watches from the luxury Italian watch brand Officine Panerai will be on public display for the first time at this year's 'Ultimate Collection' at the ExCeL Centre in Docklands. Housed in a 47mm case, this new chronograph from TAG Heuer will be available in October. Movement is the Calibre S: Electro-Mechanical Chronograph exclusively patented by TAG Heuer. Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Automatique

Determined to perpetuate the glorious history of the first modern diver’s watch (1953), the le Brassus manufacturer unveiled the brand-new Fifty Fathoms Automatique, imbued with the brand’s trademark understated elegance. In striking contrast with its black predecessors, it radiantly reveals its sporting assets through an immaculate white exterior that blends tradition and innovation with pure, sleek lines.

In keeping with its tradition of innovation, Blancpain has interpreted the instantly recognizable design of the Fifty Fathoms in the emblematic color of purity. Crafted in scratch-resistant sapphire, the white unidirectional rotating bezel avoids any risk of accidentally prolonging dive time, while its slightly raised and ratcheted design helps limit potential shocks. The 45 mm-diameter steel case is equipped with crown guards that reinforce security around this essential component. Against a matt white dial background, the white shade of the luminescent coating applied to trapeze-shaped hourmarkers and hands in rhodium-plated gold, as well as the pearly grey Luminova of the markings on the bezel, reveal their fluorescent green color only in the darkness of the ocean depths.

This new steel Fifty Fathoms Automatique is powered by self-winding Calibre 1315, an exclusive Blancpain mechanical movement conceived and developed for watches with a resolutely sporting vocation. Stemming from a lengthy quest for simplicity, accuracy and performance, Calibre 1315 is equipped with a sturdy glucydur balance fitted with square-headed gold micrometric regulating screws and designed to prevent any impact from disturbing the smooth running of the watch, thus ensuring peerless accuracy and rating efficiency. Three series-coupled barrels guarantee a 5-day power reserve, while providing a constant supply of energy at all times.

The new Fifty Fathoms Automatique is equipped with a sapphire crystal case back revealing the beauty and the complexity of its 222-part movement, yet without compromising its water resistance to 300 meters. Self-winding Calibre 1315 features finishing worthy of the grand watchmaking traditions: hand drawn file strokes, beveling, circular graining, circular satin brushing… The large rubies are driven directly into the bridges and plates so as to preserve the visual magic of traditional movements. The oscillating weight specially designed for this model is engraved with a nautilus motif. Blancpain has also developed a sturdy, sporty and water-resistant strap complete with pin buckle and made from rubber-lined white sail canvas.

The Fifty Fathoms still has plenty of surprises in store for admirers. Over the coming season it will appear decked out in new colors and luxurious finishes, to the delight of devotees of fine mechanical watchmaking.
